A project exhibited at Stour Space in September 2018
Concord Youth Centre Photographers in collaboration with Sana Badri
A photography exhibition that explores what home and community mean to a group of photographers between the ages of 9 and 11 from Homerton, Hackney.
The photographers used Pentax mv1 cameras and Kodak Portra 400 film to document the things that matter to them over two months. The places we live in are often portrayed in a singular light, and if the photographers Jehu, Emelda and Issa don’t tell their own story, someone else will tell it for them.
These photographers want to show that the interior of the estate is layered. Often, yes with the things we see on the news, but mostly with bodies laughing, playing, dancing, with new bikes, annoying siblings and tenderness.
